This role is vital in our organization as it encompasses the daily operations within Financial Management Services. The position entails a deep understanding of financial data and systems, and requires the ability to identify areas of improvement for our financial processes. Job Responsibility:
Oversee the integration of the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) Project into the department's financial operations
Perform a thorough evaluation of existing financial systems and processes to ascertain compatibility with Florida PALM
Liaison with stakeholders to establish both functional and technical requirements for the new system
Analyze financial data to plan and execute a seamless migration to Florida PALM, ensuring data integrity is maintained throughout the process
Design and implement integrations between Florida PALM and other financial systems, including the development of data warehouses as needed
Customize Florida PALM to meet the department's specific financial needs and processes
Develop comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to support decision-making
Create and deliver training programs to equip staff with the skills to effectively utilize Florida PALM
Conduct rigorous testing to ensure the system's accuracy, reliability, and compliance with financial regulations
Assume the current duties of the Financial Administrators or section supervisors within the various sections of Financial Management Services, including Disbursements, Revenue, and Financial Reporting
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in IT Finance management
Proficient in operations, planning, and procedures related to IT Finance
Familiarity with budget processes, cash activity, and revenue accounting
Ability to design, execute, and lead financial management projects
Experience in performing ad hoc financial tasks and financial reporting
Strong understanding of data analysis, integration, and migration
Ability to create dashboards and manage data warehousing
Proficient in managing daily operations and internal control systems
Experience in ledger management and disbursement processes
Strong skills in stakeholder management and optimization processes
Ability to design and implement training programs
Proven experience in financial reporting and data analysis
Knowledge of IT systems and their integration into financial management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity with relevant financial management software and tools
