Job Description:

We are looking for a Qualified Media and IT Teacher to join a well-regarded SEN School in Peterborough on a permanent, part-time basis. This role is 3 days per week, term-time only, offering a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse group of students in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons in Media and IT to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Develop and implement creative projects that cater to individual learning styles and abilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to express themselves
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure students' well-being and progress
  • Collaborate with staff to create individualised learning plans that support student growth and development
  • Maintain attendance records and comply with school policies
  • Promote links with local industry to prepare students for adult life and careers
  • Attend department meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and create subject materials
  • Serve as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and maintaining student well-being.

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and ability to motivate students of all abilities
  • Effective communication, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience
  • Complete Child Protection Training
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young persons they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
