Job Description:

We are seeking a Media Relations Specialist to support our team on a freelance basis. This role requires approximately 20 hours per month with availability during standard business hours (9 AM – 5 PM CST). This is a great opportunity for an experienced media relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and excels at securing earned media opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

Research and identify journalists who align with client stories and industry trends
Craft and send compelling pitches to secure earned media opportunities
Proactively follow up with media contacts to land placements and keep pitches top-of-mind
Track media coverage and report on earned media successes
Collaborate with internal teams to align media outreach with overall PR strategy

Requirements:

Proven Media Relations Expertise
Agency Experience
Go-Getter Mentality
Strong writing skills with experience crafting compelling media pitches
Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
Experience using media databases and tracking tools is a plus
