Job Description:

We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This role plays a crucial part in a medical office environment, contributing to the processing of patient account balances, handling insurance claims, and ensuring maximum reimbursement. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Job Responsibility:

Efficiently process customer credit applications to ensure accuracy
Keep up-to-date and precise records of customer credit
Regularly track customer accounts and take suitable action when necessary
Address outstanding patient account balances from the date of service in accordance with practice protocol
Provide pertinent information regarding billing, coding, and insurance carriers
Promptly address returned claims, correspondence, denials, account reconciliations, and rebills to ensure timely reimbursement
Submit primary and secondary insurance claims electronically on a daily basis
Review and correct or complete claim forms as needed
Handle rejected or denied claims and assign the appropriate insurance carrier
Write clear and concise appeal letters to appeal claims as necessary
Resolve payment issues with carriers, such as denials and partial payments
Research insurance company issues, such as network problems and work comp claims
Follow up on suspended claims, and aged, unresolved claims
Liaise with third-party representatives to complete claims processing
Report productivity results on a weekly basis

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge and experience in Medical Billing procedures and practices
Proficiency in processing Medical Claims with accuracy and efficiency
Ability to handle Insurance Claims, ensuring all patient details and services rendered are accurately recorded
Substantial experience in Billing tasks, including the creation, sending, and tracking of invoices
Proficiency in Medical Coding, translating healthcare services into universal medical alphanumeric codes
