Job Description:

We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Dallas, Texas. This role is in the Healthcare industry, specifically in Hospitals and Social Assistance. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be interacting with patients about their medical bills and addressing their inquiries.

Job Responsibility:

Communicate empathetically with patients regarding their self-pay balances and medical bills
Handle inbound calls from patients about their balances or statements
Utilize an outbound dialer to drive calls back into the call queue
Take patient payments and set up payment plans as needed
Verify insurance online and update insurance files accordingly
Maintain and update patient demographic information
Work as part of a team to handle a large volume of calls, including those from irate patients
Use written communication skills to respond to Mychart emails from patients

Requirements:

Proficiency in Cerner Technologies and EHR SYSTEM
Demonstrable experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Appeals
Familiarity with Benefit and Billing Functions
Hands-on experience with Claim Administration
Proven expertise in Medical Billing and Medical Coding
Experience with Medical Claims handling
Ability to Assist Patients professionally and empathetically
Experience in Inpatient Care and Inpatient Coding
Proficiency in managing Patient Account and Patient Accounting
Strong skills in Patient Advocacy
Experience with Patient Billing and handling Patient Bills
Proficiency in Patient Check-in procedures
Strong understanding of Patient Financial matters
Experience with Medical Insurance Billing
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid Billing procedures
