Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join a dynamic healthcare organization. This is an opportunity for individuals with certification expertise, technical knowledge, and strong attention to detail to contribute to patient care and organizational success.

Job Responsibility:

Accurately assign appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to diagnoses, procedures, and services provided by healthcare practitioners
Audit and review clinical documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer guidelines
Collaborate with billing teams to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure timely claim submission
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, including changes to ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
Utilize electronic medical records systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) to input and verify coded patient data
Work with healthcare providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding

Requirements:

Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) required
Experience utilizing electronic medical records systems (Epic, Cerner preferred) in coding workflows
Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Previous healthcare coding experience (1–3 years preferred)
