Robert Half is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a dynamic organization in the healthcare industry. In this hybrid onsite role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of a medical office by providing exceptional front-desk service and administrative support to patients, providers, and staff.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner
Manage check-in and check-out processes, schedule appointments, and provide general information about the practice
Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, direct calls to appropriate staff, and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, medical procedures, or billing
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, advising on any necessary forms or co-payments
Collect patient payments, prepare and issue receipts, and provide basic billing-related guidance
Work closely with medical office administrators, medical billers, doctors, and nurses to ensure seamless scheduling and workflow within the clinic or hospital setting
Ensure patients feel welcome and valued by creating a positive and professional experience during all interactions
Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and materials
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Additional coursework or certification in healthcare administration preferred
1–3 years in a medical receptionist, administrative assistant, or customer service role within a healthcare setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Workday preferred
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively interact with patients and staff from diverse backgrounds
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Capable of identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts and patient concerns in a timely and professional manner
Commitment to protecting patient information and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Nice to have:
