We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our healthcare practice. In this role, you will handle administrative tasks, greet patients, and ensure that the office operates smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a patient-focused attitude.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients, visitors, and vendors warmly and professionally as they enter the office
manage check-in and check-out processes, including verifying patient information, collecting co-pays, and updating medical records in the system
schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments according to the office's procedures and availability
answer and route phone calls to the appropriate department or staff members in a courteous and timely manner
handle patient inquiries, provide basic information about services offered, and resolve non-medical concerns promptly
maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
manage office supplies, order inventory, and support staff by performing various administrative and clerical tasks as needed
coordinate with insurance companies for verification and pre-authorization when required
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
additional training or certification in medical office administration is a plus
previous experience as a receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred
proficiency in handling electronic medical records (EMRs), with experience in systems like Cerner, Epic, or similar preferred
strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
familiarity with insurance processes and terminology is an advantage
commitment to maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Nice to have:
additional training or certification in medical office administration
