We are seeking a friendly and organized contract Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining efficient administrative operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a fast-paced medical office environment.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, check them in for appointments, and assist with inquiries regarding services, schedules, or billing
Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, including coordinating patient appointments, follow-ups, and rescheduling when necessary
Answer and route phone calls professionally, take messages, and respond to patient inquiries promptly
Maintain patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic and Cerner
ensure confidentiality and accuracy
Assist with insurance verifications, collection of co-pays, and basic billing inquiries
Manage office supplies, keep waiting areas presentable, and coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth day-to-day office operations
Requirements:
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare setting preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
additional certifications in medical administration or billing are a plus
Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Cerner, Epic) and standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused attitude
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment
