Job Description:

The role of Medical Staff Coordinator involves acting as the intermediary between the organization administration and the medical staff, ensuring a smooth flow of operations and effective communication.

Job Responsibility:

  • Liaising with medical staff leadership to represent administrative issues and foster a collaborative environment
  • Processing initial medical staff applications and preparing them for presentation and approval
  • Administering medical staff committees and providing support to medical staff leadership
  • Coordinating small programs within a limited budget
  • Ensuring the strict confidentiality of all matters related to the medical staff
  • Managing meetings including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on assigned medical staff departments and committee functions
  • Engaging in credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff, including appointment, reappointment, privileging, and detail oriented practice evaluations
  • Collaborating with various departments and physicians to provide and interpret relevant data
  • Maintaining the medical staff database, official rosters, call schedules, documents, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Managing medical staff dues and fees

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in procedures and policy-making related to medical staffing
  • Familiarity with budget processes and financial review
  • Ability to manage and navigate databases effectively
  • Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Capable of creating and delivering presentations
  • Knowledge of medical coverage and insurance policies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to regulate team activities
  • Experience in acting as a liaison between different departments
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters
  • Familiarity with SAN - Storage Area Network
  • Ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Experience in drafting and distributing notices
  • Proficiency in organizing and conducting committee meetings
  • Experience in managing a medical office
  • Skills in language interpretation will be advantageous
  • Experience in credentialing medical staff
  • Familiarity with home care procedures and policies
  • Ability to interface with various software and systems
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in the medical field
  • Knowledge of HTTPS and other relevant networking protocols
