The Meetings and Special Events Manager assists in planning and executing meetings and special events, ensuring seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales where appropriate. The role involves managing profitability, ensuring exceptional customer service, and upholding The Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards.
Job Responsibility:
Assists in planning and execution of meetings and special events
Assists in the implementation of departmental strategies
Assists in execution of event management strategy
Conducts daily walk-through of banquet floor
Assists in developing working relationships with outside vendors
Creates opportunities to upsell during event planning
Assists in managing department controllable expenses
Ensures exceptional customer service
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
1 year experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
