Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II responsible for maintenance and repair on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in a mobile environment with the ability to work independently. Job Responsibility:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT Inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment
perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment systems such as Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Engines, Transmissions, and more
diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including hydraulic/electrical/electronic diagnostics
inspect and diagnose defective equipment using test instruments
road test vehicles to ensure proper functionality
independently manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck
document work in Repair Orders using company systems
complete DOT and other documentation forms timely and accurately
communicate with management or support teams for repair approvals
work with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule
maintain company-issued service truck and perform safety checks.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field or a different combination such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline or 5 years’ experience in a related field
possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical
a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until expiration or a DOT physical
candidates must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations
safe driving record with a 3-year MVR review
valid state-of-residence driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File.
