Job Description:

Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various types of fleet vehicles.

Job Responsibility:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment
Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions using test instruments
Road test vehicles
Manage parts inventory and equipment
Maintain company-issued service truck
Operate safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections
Work with clients to assess needs
Use tools, instruments, welding equipment, lifts and jacks
Document and report findings
Obtain parts from approved vendors
Communicate with management
Comply with safety, health and environmental policies.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
Successfully complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical
Valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining
At least 21 years or older
Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required
Valid state-of-residence driver’s license
Maintain Driver Qualification File (DQF) and eligibility to drive in accordance with DOT requirements.

Nice to have:

ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
ASE 608/609 certification.
