Job Description:

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks in a mobile environment. This position involves preventative and follow-up maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on vehicles while complying with DOT and company standards.

Job Responsibility:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical systems, brakes, cooling systems, and more
Road test vehicles to diagnose and ensure proper functioning
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on service truck
Perform safety checks and vehicle inspections
Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, and welding equipment
Document work performed, parts used, and findings in company system
Communicate with management for repair approvals and estimates
Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations
Maintain company-issued service truck and conduct daily inspections.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months
Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical
Must hold valid state-of-residence driver’s license and meet Department of Transportation requirements
Safe driving required with 3-year MVR review
Candidates must be at least 21 years or older
Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
Ability to perform moderately heavy labor
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to manage concurrent tasks and make judgments about prioritizing work
Understand new information for problem-solving and decision-making.

Nice to have:

ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems)
ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
ASE 608/609 certification.
