Job Description:

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs with diagnostics, and other duties. Fleet Services operates nationwide and provides mobile and service center solutions for fleet vehicles. The role includes managing parts inventory, documenting repairs, performing advanced diagnostics, and working independently to meet service expectations.

Job Responsibility:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, and transmissions
Road test vehicles to ensure proper functioning
Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued trucks
Document work performed using company-issued devices
Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation
Maintain and operate company-issued service truck
Communicate with management and customers to provide solutions
Perform work in compliance with safety regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment
At least 21 years or older due to commerce regulations
Valid state-of-residence driver’s license
Ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File (DQF)
Safe driving required with 3-year Motor Vehicle Record review
DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining or pass a DOT physical.

ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems)
ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
ASE 608/609 certification
