Job Description:

Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is hiring a Reefer Trailer Technician II responsible for certified DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance, light repairs, welding, fabrication, and trailer equipment diagnostics. This position operates in a dedicated onsite setting and requires compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and federal regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Perform Preventive Maintenance and repairs on ThermoKing, Carrier and other refrigeration equipment
Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components
Follow safe operating practices and procedures
Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service truck
Operate company-issued service vehicle and conduct safety checks
Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on Repair Orders
Complete DOT forms in a timely fashion
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment and systems
Perform welding, fabrication, body and framework replacement
Diagnose and adjust various types of trailer equipment and systems.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
Obtain 608/609 certification within eighteen (18) months
Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment
Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining expiration
At least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations
Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required
Valid state-of-residence driver’s license
Eligible to meet Department of Transportation requirements.

Nice to have:

ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems)
ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
