Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, thorough, and dedicated Non-Profit Attorney Hybrid for a growing nonprofit organization based in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social justice and the law, combined with a meticulous approach to their work.

Job Responsibility:

Provide legal advice and guidance to our nonprofit organization, staff, and board of directors
Develop, implement and maintain legal compliance measures to ensure the organization follows all relevant laws and regulations
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, contracts, and other legal documents
Perform legal research to assist the organization in decision-making processes
Litigate or mediate disputes and legal matters related to the organization while ensuring the protection of the organization's best interests by minimizing risks
Participate in fundraising efforts, grant writing and networking events
Collaborate with other departments in strategic planning, project management, and program development
Provide training to the organization's staff on compliance with laws, legal principles and practices

Requirements:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the State Bar of California
Minimum of 1 years' experience in a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel, preferably within a nonprofit setting
Exceptional research, negotiation, and communication skills
Proven experience in drafting legal documents and contracts
Excellent knowledge and understanding of nonprofit law, including corporate governance, tax-exemption, compliance, and reporting requirements
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a team
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make informed decisions
A strong personal commitment to the mission and values of our organization
