Job Description:

The Research In Business Risk and Control team is responsible for risk identification, monitoring, reporting and remediation for Research. This includes the execution of controls assessment processes and related reporting. The role will provide exposure to staff at all levels of the business and significant insight into business structure, strategy and management of the business.

Job Responsibility:

Execute established testing and monitoring reviews of business controls for Research
Present the data
Explain the story behind the numbers
Provide background information and impact summaries along with issue analysis to aid understanding of colleagues and to facilitate rapid risk assessment
Escalate, investigate, and remediate any issues identified through control processes
Assist in performing a detailed analysis on the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommendations holistic corrective actions and improvements, provide check and challenge to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Issue Management and Escalation Policies
Liaise with business and line control officers on any deficiencies or control gaps as well as ensuring appropriate remedial actions are in place where deficiencies are identified
Proactively identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes, propose solutions, and lead implementation of improvements
Develops and drive monitoring routines to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
Help drive continuous improvements in accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and quality of Manager Control Assessment (i.e. Risk self-assessment) control design assessment and controls testing
Maintain detailed control documentation, procedures, and audit evidence
Support internal and external audit management and deliverables requests
Participation in Working Groups and close liaison with the wider Research Business Management team and Support Partners (Tech, Product Control etc)
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Supports other relevant work efforts of department where needed and as directed by their manager

Requirements:

Detail-oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to execute in a large, matrixed organization
Self-starter with ability to solve problems independently
Intermediate project management and execution skills
Demonstrate an ability to problem solve and leverage knowledge of operational processes to diagnose and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in managing projects and/or processes with multiple priorities
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Experience with databases and information management
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Self-starter and highly motivated
Ability to conduct analysis and organize findings including trends
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
