Job Description:

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Paralegal in the legal industry, located in Miami, Florida. This role involves a focus on civil and criminal litigation, requiring a proactive approach to case management and a capacity to handle files independently. The workplace is a busy law firm where overtime and travel may be required during trials.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and maintain case files from start to finish without requiring additional instruction
Draft legal documents, pleadings and motions with precision and timeliness
Efficiently handle e-Filing of court documents and maintain accurate records
Attend trials and prepare necessary materials for attorneys
Keep track of billable hours and handle billing functions
Use Case Management Software like Relativity proficiently for efficient case handling
Prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
Manage calendar effectively, keeping track of trial dates, hearings, and meetings
Be prepared to travel within and outside the state for trial attendance
Exhibit excellent communication skills when interacting with clients and team members

Requirements:

Proficiency in Case Management Software and Relativity
Ability to handle Billing Functions effectively
Expertise in Calendar Management
Excellent Communication skills
Experience in Civil Litigation
Knowledge of Criminal Litigation
Previous Trial Experience
Skill in Trial Preparation
Experience in Trial Attendance
Familiarity with e-File and e-Filing systems
Capability to Draft Legal Documents
Experience in Drafting Pleadings
Proficiency in Drafting Motions
Expertise in Calendaring
Ability to utilize Prolaw - Time & Billing
