As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will play a critical role in delivering healthcare services and fostering a culture of excellence within the pharmacy team. Responsibilities include patient counseling, prescription fulfillment, pharmacy management in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, and ensuring compliance with laws and standards. You will also help improve patient outcomes by providing immunizations and clinical care within the permissible scope.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy as their proxy
Assume Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
Fulfill prescriptions accurately, following pharmacy workflow procedures
Contribute to positive patient experiences through genuine care
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations
Manage inventory with a special focus on cold chain products
Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations
Write pharmacy schedules as directed
Maintain clinical and technical skills through training
Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible
Comply with all laws and CVS Health policies to ensure patient safety.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening by giving full attention, asking questions, and not interrupting inappropriately
Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining tablets, day’s supply, or bottles
Identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
Be mobile and upright for extended periods
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items
Move fingers repetitively
Extend arms in multiple directions
Stoop to a considerable degree for lifting
Close visual acuity for detailed tasks like transcribing or reading
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
Frequently lift up to 10 lbs
Consistently lift minimal weight
Express ideas by spoken word and receive oral instructions.
Nice to have:
1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
