Job Description:

The purpose of the Patient Relations Manager at Oak Street Health is to educate patients about Medicare programs, resources, and affordable insurance coverage options to increase patient access to care and retention. Patient Relations Managers are the insurance experts at each clinic, advocating for patients by helping them navigate through insurance options and bills. The role reports to the Sr. Patient Relations Manager or Practice Manager.

Job Responsibility:

Assist patients with navigating Medicare and insurance issues including coverage, benefits, summaries, eligibility
serve as internal resource in the clinic on insurance questions for providers and staff
help patients resolve medical bills inside and outside of Oak Street Health
gain the trust of patients to advise them in healthcare coverage
manage the welcome visit and orientation process for new patients
educate patients on public benefits and prescription drug aid
support clinic management team on operational activities including scheduling and billing
provide exceptional customer service
foster patient engagement through events including center tours

Requirements:

Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs including Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel
US work authorization
experience helping patients or customers understand their insurance coverage
passion for working with others to create an unmatched patient experience
problem-solving orientation and flexible and positive attitude
sales background preferred
proficiency in non-English languages like Spanish, Polish, Russian preferred
CRM experience a plus
bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
experience helping patients navigate the healthcare system, especially related to Medicare and Managed Care
