The Payroll Administrator will manage payroll processes for a multi-state workforce of 150+ employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves process enhancement, operational excellence, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Job Responsibility:
Identify and implement strategies to improve payroll process efficiency and accuracy
Assist in developing standardized policies related to payroll functions, such as employee advances, deductions, and expense reimbursements
Create, document, and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all payroll tasks
Maintain and oversee the payroll system, coordinating with both internal teams and external vendors (e.g., payroll and benefits providers)
Protect the confidentiality of employee and payroll-related information
Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to ensure payroll operations align with broader organizational priorities
Cross-train with the AP (Accounts Payable) and AR (Accounts Receivable) teams to offer support during high-volume periods, such as month-end close
Ensure payroll compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including proper tax filings
Demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in all payroll responsibilities
Participate in additional projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Experience in handling Multi-state Payroll and Multistate Payroll is required
Expertise in managing Payroll for a team ranging from 100-300+ employees is essential
Proficiency in Payroll Tax Reporting is needed
Understanding of Payroll Taxes and related regulations
Familiarity with Paychex and Paychex Payroll software is desired but not required
Nice to have:
