Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our clients team in Asheville. This is a fast-paced role requiring precision, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing using QuickBooks Desktop and Online, along with a working knowledge of multi-state payroll tax compliance.

Job Responsibility:

Process accurate and timely payroll for approximately 350 employers per month using QuickBooks Desktop and Online
Manage all aspects of payroll including wage calculations, direct deposits, and tax withholdings
Handle multi-state payroll tax filings, including withholding and unemployment tax payments
Submit payments via EFTPS and other state-specific portals as required
Respond to client inquiries with professionalism, patience, and a high level of customer service, both verbally and in writing
Ensure all payroll deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years payroll processing experience using QuickBooks
Strong understanding of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations
Proficient with EFTPS and state tax payment systems
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage high volumes in a deadline-driven environment
