Job Description:

We are seeking a Payroll Manager for our construction team based in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee multi-state payroll operations, ensuring strict compliance with union Collectively Bargained Agreements (CBAs) and government regulations. This position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in managing accounting functions and a keen eye for detail.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administer multi-state payroll operations with precision and timeliness
  • Ensure that payroll activities are in strict accordance with union CBAs and government regulations
  • Lead and supervise the payroll team to ensure efficient operations
  • Manage and maintain accurate payroll records for all employees in the organization
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve them promptly
  • Monitor employee accounts and make necessary adjustments or corrections
  • Utilize your skills in Certified Payroll and Union Payroll to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Implement and uphold best practices in payroll management within the organization
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll operations with other business functions

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding and experience in Accounting Functions
  • Proven expertise in Certified Payroll management
  • Experience in handling Payroll for Union employees in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated skills in managing and overseeing all aspects of the payroll function
  • Ability to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll
  • Knowledgeable in payroll tax laws and filing procedures
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and develop the payroll team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address payroll discrepancies
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with employees, unions, and relevant government bodies
  • Detail-oriented and ability to maintain accurate payroll records
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to payroll information
