Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with multistate payroll experience to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring employees across multiple states are paid accurately and on time in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Process and administer end-to-end payroll for employees in multiple states
Manage state-specific tax filings, unemployment insurance requirements, garnishments, and other deductions
Maintain employee records in payroll systems
Conduct regular audits on payroll data
Prepare and distribute payroll reports and metrics
Act as the go-to resource for payroll-related matters across various states
Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax forms, deductions, and discrepancies
Work with third-party payroll providers, tax agencies, benefits vendors, and other partners
Identify opportunities for improving payroll processes

Requirements:

Minimum of 3–5 years in payroll processing
Significant experience handling multistate payroll
Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, unemployment insurance, and garnishment processing
Exceptional attention to detail
Problem-solving skills
Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Demonstrated experience in 401k - RRSP Administration
Familiarity with About Time software
Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
Capability to manage Benefit Functions effectively
Experience in handling Full Cycle Payroll
Ability to manage Multi-state Payroll
Experience with Payroll administration for 101 - 500 Employees
