Job Description:

This role involves managing high-volume payroll operations in a growing company that operates across multiple states, with a focus on California and Colorado. You will also play a pivotal role in the implementation of Paycor, a new payroll and HR software, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multistate payroll operations and contributing to process improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately manage full-cycle multistate payroll for California and Colorado employees, adhering to state and federal regulations
  • Align with management and IT teams to ensure a smooth transition and optimization of the new Paycor payroll software
  • Regularly audit payroll records for accuracy, including hours worked, wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits
  • Uphold compliance with labor laws and tax regulations, focusing primarily on California and Colorado requirements
  • Offer expert advice on payroll matters to employees and internal departments
  • Identify and resolve any payroll system or process issues during and after the implementation of Paycor
  • Support the reporting and analysis of payroll data for accounting, auditing, and compliance purposes
  • Continually assess and enhance payroll processes to boost efficiency and accuracy

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist with at least 5 years in the field
  • Proficiency in using 'Paycor' software for managing payroll
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions related to payroll
  • Knowledge of benefit functions and how they integrate with payroll
  • Experience in handling multi-state payroll, understanding the intricacies of different state regulations
  • Expertise in managing benefits payroll, ensuring all employee benefits are accurately accounted for
  • Previous experience in managing payroll for companies with 101 to 500 employees
  • Familiarity with handling payroll garnishments and ensuring legal compliance
  • Experience in managing in-house payroll systems
  • Ability to handle payroll for multi-state organizations, adhering to different state laws and regulations
  • Experience in managing payroll for large companies with over 500 employees
  • Skilled in all aspects of payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Proficiency in processing biweekly payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
