Job Description:

A respected organization in Oceanside, CA is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who can ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with comprehensive knowledge of payroll systems, policies, and compliance requirements. Job Responsibility:

Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including overtime and bonuses
Ensure payroll deductions (e.g., benefits, garnishments, and taxes) are accurate and properly calculated
Review and analyze payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting
Prepare and submit reports related to payroll, such as payroll tax returns or labor cost summaries
Reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger for accurate reporting
Respond to employee inquiries about payroll and benefits deductions promptly and professionally
Manage the onboarding of new employees related to payroll, including setting up direct deposits and tax withholdings

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
2+ years of payroll processing experience
familiarity with multi-state payroll is a plus
Hands-on experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian) and strong Excel skills
FPC or CPP certification is a plus but not required
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication abilities, with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy

Nice to have:

FPC or CPP certification
familiarity with multi-state payroll
