Job Description:

We are searching for a methodical Payroll Specialist to join our client's team in the Manufacturing industry, located in Collierville, Tennessee. As a Payroll Specialist, your primary focus will be to manage and ensure the accurate processing of our company-wide payroll, maintain detailed records, and handle any payroll-related inquiries in a timely and detail-oriented manner.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of company payroll on a weekly, bi-weekly, and annual basis
Maintain and verify employee timesheets, ensuring all data is entered accurately into the payroll database
Handle the setup and confirmation of direct deposit requests
Proactively process wage garnishments and bonus/commission payments, ensuring all necessary authorizations are obtained
Conduct regular audits of employee time and labor data, interacting with supervisors and HR associates to verify data and resolve discrepancies
Oversee the accurate calculation of federal, state, and local taxes, social security contributions, employee benefit contributions, and other deductions from employee paychecks
Assist in balancing payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies, informing Accounting of any issues
Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information, protecting the organization's value
Monitor and respond to inquiries from employees regarding paycheck amounts, deductions, leave accrivals, direct deposit, and other concerns in a detail-oriented manner
Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by establishing necessary tax accounts, monitoring tax filings, and resolving any payroll tax discrepancies
Perform Verifications of Employment and set up suppliers in our ERP system as necessary

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist in the manufacturing industry
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
Familiarity with Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time software
Proficiency in executing Accounting Functions and handling Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience with Auditing procedures
Ability to manage Benefit Functions
Experience with Garnishment Calculations and processing Garnishments
Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll procedures
Familiarity with Multi-state Payroll and managing Payroll for over 500 employees
Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and ability to Process Payroll
Experience with Weekly Payroll management
Ability to handle Payroll - Garnishments and Process Garnishments
Proficiency in Multistate Payroll and Payroll - Multi-State tasks
