Job Description:

The People and Projects Liaison will serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing support and guidance on HR-related matters. Additionally, this role will assist various HR projects, ensuring they align with our strategic goals all while engaging with various stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

Act as the main point of contact for employees, addressing questions and concerns related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
Provide support and guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
Support HR projects by developing project plans, timelines, and milestones
Monitor project progress, make necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion, and communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders
Collaborate with HR Team members and other departments to achieve project objectives
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant labor laws

Requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in a HR generalist and/or HR project liaison role
Strong organizational and time management skills
Respectful and professional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

Nice to have:

Culture change agent in a union environment
Experience in a blended HR role
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Preference given to those with prior union experience, especially ILWU/OCU
