Job Description:

As a 3rd year pharmacy intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. This includes patient safety, professional pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management. You will also be actively involved in patient care programs.

Requirements:

Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
0-3 years relevant work experience
Must possess or be in process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Strong communication and presentation skills
Complete all required training within state guidelines and required timeframe
Ability to have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, scan, and bag items
Ability to pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm
Ability to reach overhead and stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in multiple directions to place, move, or lift items
Precision control to adjust machines to exact positions
Ability to stoop considerably, requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles to move items between low and high positions, including bending spine at the waist
Close visual acuity to perform activities such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visual inspection involving small parts
Ability to orally communicate information and instructions to colleagues and customers
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs, exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
Complete any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager
Complete all required training and obtain required licensure (if applicable) within state guidelines

Nice to have:

Immunization eligibility
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Once state regulations are met, pharmacy interns should be striving to provide patient immunizations as this is an essential pharmacist function
