At CVS Health, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams to deliver exceptional patient care, operate efficiently, and provide compassionate service. Technicians assist in prescription fulfillment, inventory management, patient interactions, and other pharmacy operations while adhering to company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:

keeping patients healthy by offering immunizations and other services
solving or escalating patient problems
completing basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts
contributing to a high-performing team with a growth mindset
voluntarily traveling to stores as needed
understanding and complying with federal, state, and local regulations
delivering patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
completing additional licensure and training requirements for Technician Immunizer status
educating patients about vaccines
monitoring adverse reactions and reporting per public health requirements
tracking and documenting vaccine supplies.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
must be at least 16 years of age if the state board does not mandate a minimum age
must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if the state board does not mandate minimum educational requirements
state-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
actively look for ways to help people
notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
use and understand verbal and written communication
ability to use math to solve pharmacy-related problems
identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
physical demands such as remaining upright for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, and visual inspection involving small parts.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.
