Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams and delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities include assisting patients, ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly, inventory management, and compliance with relevant laws and standards. Technicians must complete rigorous company training and satisfy state board of pharmacy requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Living the company's purpose by following all SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care and offering services such as immunizations
Completing basic inventory activities such as medication deliveries and cycle counts
Embracing a growth mindset and being receptive to feedback to actively expand clinical and technical knowledge
Remaining flexible to scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market as needed
Complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles
Delivering additional patient health care services where allowed, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Attention to detail and ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Excellent customer service and team orientation skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical reasoning skills
Problem resolution skills
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs and extended periods of standing.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
