Job Description:

The Pharmacy Technician position at CVS Health offers individuals the opportunity to impact lives in a leading retail pharmacy company. The role involves managing pharmacy tasks, ensuring medication needs are met, maintaining compliance with laws and demonstrating compassionate care. New hires must complete training programs and satisfy licensure requirements before expanding their duties.

Job Responsibility:

Manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks
promptly, safely, and accurately fill patient prescriptions
provide caring service exceeding customer expectations
maintain ethical conduct and patient confidentiality
complete CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program
satisfy registration, licensing, and certification requirements
build clinical, technical, and insurance expertise
comply with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.

Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years of age
licensure requirements vary by state
ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
notice and understand customers’ reactions, and respond appropriately
use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues
actively listen by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription
is able to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
recognizing there is a problem
choosing the best course of action when faced with a complex situation with several available options
occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods
extended hand actions and physical bending
visual acuity for detailed tasks.

Nice to have:

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
PTCB National Certification
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
