Pharmacy Technicians support CVS Health pharmacists in delivering safe and effective operations. Responsibilities include assisting with prescription fulfillment, providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and adhering to compliance standards. Technicians also have opportunities to grow their clinical and technical knowledge and may support immunizations where permissible.
Job Responsibility:
Following all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Creating positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service
Completing basic inventory activities such as organizing medication deliveries and performing cycle counts
Seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to assist patients
Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling between stores to meet demand
Complying with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy
Supporting immunizations where permissible and adhering to vaccination guidelines.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Essential Functions include regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention to detail and ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Friendly and customer service oriented
Strong communication skills
Basic mathematical reasoning skills
Physical demands such as standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work across multiple locations to meet business needs.
