At CVS Health, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting the pharmacy teams to deliver on the brand promise. They assist with prescription fulfillment, inventory management, and customer service to ensure safe and effective pharmacy operations. Technicians are required to complete training programs and fulfill licensing or certification requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Following all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
creating heartfelt and personalized patient moments while serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone
solving or escalating patient problems compassionately
accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
embracing growth mindset and being receptive to feedback
voluntarily traveling to work shifts in other stores as needed by business
complying with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies
delivering additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law
preparing and administering vaccines after required training and certification
tracking and documenting vaccinations.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
must be at least 16 years of age if no minimum age requirement by the board of pharmacy exists
must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if no educational requirement is mandated by the board of pharmacy
state-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs.
