Job Description:

The Pharmacy Technician position at CVS Health involves assisting in increasing patient access to care, managing prescriptions, meeting regulatory compliance requirements, and providing compassionate service. New hires complete training and licensing requirements and have opportunities for career growth within the pharmacy sector. Technicians work in a fast-paced environment, applying skills in problem-solving, communication, and patient confidentiality.

Job Responsibility:

Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team
Promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions
Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations
Adhere to professional and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality
Ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for patients
Complete CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Satisfy state licensure requirements as per Board of Pharmacy guidelines
Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age
Licensure requirements vary by state
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand customers’ reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues
Actively listen by giving full attention, understanding points being made, asking questions appropriately, and avoiding interruptions
Ability to use math to solve problems, e.g., calculating prescription day supply
Ability to recognize and address problems and choose the best course of action
Ability to remain upright on feet for sustained periods and move about on foot
Ability to perform manual tasks requiring precision, such as typing or handling small parts
Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction
Ability to bend body at the waist and stoop
Good speaking and oral communication skills
Close visual acuity for activities like transcribing, reading, and inspecting small parts
Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice to have:

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
PTCB National Certification
High School diploma or equivalent
