Job Description:

The Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting CVS Health's pharmacy teams within retail locations. They are responsible for safe and effective pharmacy operations, ensuring exceptional experiences for patients, and contributing to a high-performing team. Duties include adhering to SOPs, assisting with prescription fulfillment, providing patient care, performing basic inventory tasks, and complying with all relevant regulations. Additional responsibilities may include supporting immunizations, depending on state laws and certification.

Job Responsibility:

Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
Completing basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
Contributing to a high-performing team and being receptive to feedback
Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs
Understanding and complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Delivering additional patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing

Requirements:

Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Required training must be completed within designated timeframe

Nice to have:

1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
