Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting the pharmacy team to deliver quality care to patients. The role requires attention to detail, compassion, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the ability to operate effectively in a team setting. Responsibilities include prescription fulfillment, patient interactions, inventory management, and assisting in patient health care services such as immunizations.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
Assisting in safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contributing to positive patient experiences by providing service with empathy and genuine care
Completing inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries
Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team environment
Complying with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
Delivering additional patient health care services such as immunizations where permissible.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Ability to use math to solve problems such as determining numbers required for prescriptions
Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs
Ability to remain mobile for extended periods of time.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations.
