At CVS Health, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence within retail pharmacy settings. They assist patients, contribute to pharmacy operations, and demonstrate genuine care while complying with laws and company guidelines.
Job Responsibility:
Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation
following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for prescription fulfillment
contributing to positive patient experiences
completing basic inventory activities
working as part of a high-performing team
remaining flexible for business needs
helping manage vaccine supplies and respond to adverse reactions
complying with CVS policies and laws to ensure patient safety, compliance, and privacy
contributing to patient care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
monitoring and documenting for applicable patients.
Requirements:
Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
must be at least 16 years of age if the state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum age requirement
must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if the state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement
must satisfy state-level licensure and national certification requirements which vary by state
ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
ability to concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly to meet business needs
understanding and obeying all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
attention to detail ensuring prescription information and label accuracy
ability to lift, scan, and bag items repeatedly
physical demands including ability to stoop, extend arms, and exert force up to 20 lbs.
Nice to have:
1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
