Job Description:

The chosen individual will be a critical link between the manufacturing plants and the finance department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in various financial and operational tasks. As a Plant Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include the maintenance of the Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring inventory accuracy, and analyzing/reporting manufacturing variances.

Job Responsibility:

Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting practices, BOM accuracy, and inventory controls
Maintain BOM precision within the cost accounting system, tracking costs of key raw material categories and actual labor costs vs. BOM labor assumptions
Oversee spending on overhead items and understand the drivers of freight costs
Conduct monthly analysis of manufacturing results, spending patterns, and variances to support the closing process
Collaborate with the Senior Finance Director in the development of annual budgets
Enhance the physical inventory process and adjust inventory procedures as necessary
Develop actual vs standard cost reporting and collaborate closely with Operations to initiate cost reduction efforts
Prepare plant-related capital expenditure investment requests and monitor actual spending against approved budgets
Work alongside Operations to drive inventory reductions
Review and monitor slow-moving inventory
collaborate with manufacturing management to devise actions for reducing the slow-moving inventory
Ensure accurate valuation of inventories and participate in the Cycle Count Program

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
Proven skills in managing Annual Budgets
Demonstrable experience with Budget Processes
Proficiency in handling Bill of Materials (BOM)
Must have managed Annual Standard Cost in previous roles
Expertise in Cost - Standard methodologies
Significant experience in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis
Proficient in Budgeting - Forecasting
