Job Description:

As the Principal Engineer, Materials Science role, reporting into the Sr. Director, Material Science, you will specialize in imaging and failure analysis of medical devices mainly made from polymeric materials. Baxter’s mission is to save and sustain lives through innovative products and therapies. The position offers opportunities to work in a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge imaging equipment while making a meaningful impact on healthcare.

Job Responsibility:

Responsible for the operation of CT scanner, SEM, AFM, and other imaging equipment
failure analysis and troubleshooting on medical devices/products mainly made of polymers
serve as subject matter expert in failure analysis (destructive and non-destructive).

Requirements:

BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Polymer Engineering with 5+ years of experience or, MS degree with 3+ years
knowledge in polymer science and engineering
hands-on experience in using and maintaining SEM, CT scanning, optical and other imaging testing equipment, and interpretation of obtained images
ability to independently conduct failure analysis, make conclusions and recommend solutions to complex problems
understanding of the morphological structure and the physical chemical behavior of polymer materials used in medical devices including containers and sets.
