We are welcoming a Procurement Specialist to our transport industry team located in Stockton, California, United States. In this role, you will be primarily focused on handling the administration of contracts, ensuring strict adherence to policies and procedures, and maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze complex technical data and legal requirements associated with contract administration
Evaluate contract documents and make informed decisions on their administration and enforcement
Understand, interpret, apply, and explain state and federal laws and regulations applicable to areas of responsibility
Negotiate effectively on behalf of our organization
Review contractor invoices, perform complicated cost calculations, and make accurate determinations on contractor payments
Analyze complex confidential problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound, appropriate recommendations
Organize, set priorities, and exercise sound independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines
Interpret personnel policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal legislation
Operate a computer using word processing and other business software
Organize and maintain office and specialized confidential files and complete contract records
Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
Understand and follow oral and written instruction
Exercise tact, discretion, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential personnel issues and employee situations
Establish and maintain effective customer-focused working relationships with all levels of management, employees, other governmental officials, community groups, consultants, vendors, and the public
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Procurement or a related field within the Transport industry
Proficiency in Contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating
Experience with 10-Key Accounting is required
Ability to conduct detailed reviews of procurement documents and contracts
Experience ensuring contract compliance and fulfilling contractual obligations
Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
