As a Production Technician II, Fill/Pouch at Baxter, you will contribute to manufacturing life-sustaining products while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role involves operating and maintaining machinery, ensuring quality standards, and supporting lean initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Operate, monitor, maintain and make adjustments as necessary to machinery in assigned manufacturing area
load and replenish production supplies at a rate consistent with production needs
perform routine and preventative maintenance such as adjustments, replacement of machine parts, cleaning, and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify deviations, and take appropriate action including stopping production when necessary
document required information in manufacturing logs and/or systems
investigate, identify, and correct inefficiencies in machine performance
identify process improvements
participate in Continuous Improvement, Project and Safety Teams, Lean Initiatives, Value Stream activities, and defect prevention programs
communicate with outgoing shift personnel about past shift issues
maintain point of use tool inventory
perform scheduled cleaning activities
notify Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor and take action if safety, quality, discrepancy, or major mechanical issues occur
learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, SOPs, and cGMP
sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles including maintaining and securing provided tools.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
must be at least 18 years of age
successfully complete the next scheduled Production Technician training class if not already completed
basic English written and oral communication skills
ability to understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions
detail oriented
good critical thinking and problem solving skills
good communication skills
ability to multitask
understanding of complex mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery
basic knowledge of electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics
possess or obtain PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Operator Certification
ability to analyze data
strong decision-making skills
basic mathematics proficiency
proficiency with measurement tools and basic hand tools
basic computer skills
ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
ability to stand/walk continuously throughout the shift
lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift
ability to squat, climb, reach above and below shoulder level, kneel, twist, bend, and balance
normal visual acuity
ability to distinguish color.
