Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry, based in Long Beach, California. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, including maintaining financial records, performing bank reconciliations, and reviewing job cost reports. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and transparency of our operations.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the process of journal entries and ensure their accuracy
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to maintain financial clarity
Participate in monthly and quarterly closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Produce and analyze Work In Progress (WIP) reports to monitor project performance
Review job cost reports with a comprehensive understanding of the source data to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement
Execute fundamental accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure smooth financial operations
Understand construction preliminary notices and lien rights to protect the company's interests
Have a basic understanding of payroll processes and regulations to ensure compliance
Process annual and quarterly payroll tax forms to meet regulatory requirements
Use Vista by Viewpoint software to facilitate accounting processes and tasks
Produce and analyze Schedule of Values (SOVs) to monitor project financial performance

Requirements:

Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation
Ability to perform bank reconciliations
Demonstrable knowledge in general ledger management
Experience in making journal entries
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to execute month-end close activities
Experience with NetSuite software
Familiarity with Oracle software
Experience with SAP software
Background in the construction/contractor industry is preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

Background in the construction/contractor industry
Experience with NetSuite software
Familiarity with Oracle software
