Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management for designated projects. Working closely with project managers and the finance team, the Project Accountant will ensure that all financial aspects of project operations are carefully monitored, analyzed, and reported.

Job Responsibility:

Manage all aspects of project accounting, including tracking budgets, expenses, and forecasts
Monitor project costs and provide recommendations or insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability
Collaborate with project managers to prepare and revise project budgets and forecasts
Handle project-related billing, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
Identify and analyze financial discrepancies or variances
Generate detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure all financial practices comply with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and relevant accounting regulations
Serve as a liaison between accounting and project management teams
Utilize ERP software, advanced Excel, and financial reporting tools

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, or a related field
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
Experience with Sage 300 or Procore
Familiarity with financial reporting platforms and accounting software
Must have experience in WIP, Sage 300, Procore, or in the construction industry

Nice to have:

Previous experience with industries like construction, manufacturing, or real estate
