Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Project Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 civil contractor on a major infrastructure project in the Newcastle area. This large-scale project, valued at $50 million with a scope of works that include - pavements, earthworks, and drainage, all integral to the successful delivery of this essential infrastructure.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and oversee the delivery of civil infrastructure works, including pavements, earthworks, and drainage
Ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the client’s specifications
Report to Project Managers, maintaining clear communication and ensuring smooth execution of the works
Contribute to project documentation, including quality, safety, and environmental considerations
Participate in client and contractor meetings, providing updates and resolving issues as needed
Track financials and manage costs associated with subcontractors and larger work packages
Lead and mentor project teams, including undergrads, grads, and site engineers
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including Transport for NSW (TFNSW) guidelines

Requirements:

A strong background in civil engineering with experience in roads, drainage, and earthworks
Previous experience working on large infrastructure projects over $50mil
Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in civil works
Previous experience working on Transport for NSW (TFNSW) projects is essential
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage various stakeholders
Construction Induction Card (White Card) is required
Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field
