Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Manager to become a part of our team. In this role, you will be tasked with managing a range of planning projects, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring all projects comply with local regulations. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity with the potential for long-term permanent.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and manage planning of public spaces and projects
Provide information and guidance on local regulations including General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, etc.
Handle primary staffing and caseload management for the board
Review and process development projects and amendments
Prepare or oversee the preparation of CEQA documentation
Conduct plan check reviews of building permit applications
Perform field checks at project sites to ensure consistency with local regulations and project conditions
Attend and prepare for meetings of various committees and special projects
Coordinate with other departments on planning matters and application reviews
Analyze various detail-oriented planning studies such as demographics, traffic, biological assessments, and arborist reports
Provide supervision of technical and administrative support planning staff as needed

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning and development
Proficiency in budget processes and financial planning
Understanding of construction procedures
Knowledge of zoning, planning, and land use strategies
Familiarity with construction regulations and applicable laws
Proven track record of successfully managing department planning
Experience in processing and obtaining building permits
