The Emergent Machine Intelligence Team at Hewlett-Packard Labs is seeking highly qualified, self-motivated interns to accelerate research towards new applications, core methodologies, and technologies. The main research topic is at the interface of quantum computing, statistical physics, machine learning, and high-performance computing with the goal of designing and implementing novel quantum algorithms and accelerators for efficient quantum simulation and quantum machine learning on quantum data.
Job Responsibility:
Aid in the development, implementation, and testing of dynamical circuit knitting methods at HPC-scale
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to develop quantum computing solutions
Requirements:
Pursuing PhD in computational physics, quantum chemistry, quantum computing or related field
Proficiency in Python and C/C++
Familiarity with quantum computing packages e.g. Qiskit and/or quantum circuit simulation
Familiarity with quantum algorithms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
Nice to have:
Working experience with HPC programming environments
Knowledge of tensor network methods
Background in statistical physics/condensed matter physics
Experience writing technical publications
Familiarity with quantum error correction techniques
