Job Responsibility:

Draft and edit agricultural and real estate contracts
Manage the legal aspects of real estate purchases and sales
Research current and future surface and groundwater regulations and availability in a variety of water districts located in California’s Central Valley
Attend meetings and seminars to understand current water rights and regulations, and stay informed regarding future revisions to water rights and regulations
Collaborate with coworkers to develop strategies and make recommendations to maximize water usage regulatory compliance and efficiency across a variety of farming operations

Requirements:

Proficiency with understanding and navigating complex regulatory structures
Proficiency with researching and preparing legal documents
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to convey complex issues to a variety of audiences
Geographically based in Central California or willingness to relocate

Nice to have:

At least 2 years of legal experience as a paralegal
Experience working with contracts and real estate transactions
Experience interacting with stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and the public
