Job Responsibility:
Prepare recovery letters for tax/utility claims that have been paid out
Correspond and communicate with third-party collection agencies for additional recovery efforts
Promptly respond to voicemail and correspondence received from debtors
Communicate with tax/utility claims handlers to clarify processes and explore improvement opportunities
Negotiate amounts owed or payment plans where applicable
Post payments in relevant systems as required
Maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow all recovery processes
Manage inbound calls, emails, and other communications regarding claims recovery
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a recovery-related role (tax arrears, utility arrears, liens, or similar recovery experience preferred)
Ability to handle difficult situations with a calm and professional demeanor
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to negotiate and handle sensitive customer interactions
High school diploma required, post-secondary education in business or legal studies is an asset
Proficient in using office software and ability to learn new systems quickly
