Job Responsibility:
  • Prepare recovery letters for tax/utility claims that have been paid out
  • Correspond and communicate with third-party collection agencies for additional recovery efforts
  • Promptly respond to voicemail and correspondence received from debtors
  • Communicate with tax/utility claims handlers to clarify processes and explore improvement opportunities
  • Negotiate amounts owed or payment plans where applicable
  • Post payments in relevant systems as required
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow all recovery processes
  • Manage inbound calls, emails, and other communications regarding claims recovery
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a recovery-related role (tax arrears, utility arrears, liens, or similar recovery experience preferred)
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with a calm and professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to negotiate and handle sensitive customer interactions
  • High school diploma required, post-secondary education in business or legal studies is an asset
  • Proficient in using office software and ability to learn new systems quickly
